Kalshi Partners With S&P Dow Jones to Offer S&P 500 Prediction Contracts
Kalshi has secured a partnership with S&P Dow Jones Indices to introduce regulated event contracts linked directly to the S&P 500 benchmark.

Regulated event-contracts exchange Kalshi has entered into an agreement with S&P Dow Jones Indices to list prediction markets tied directly to the performance of the S&P 500 index. The arrangement allows the platform to use the flagship benchmark as the underlying reference for new trading instruments.
Under the partnership, market participants will be able to trade binary contracts based on specific milestones and performance metrics of the broad-market index. Unlike conventional equities trading or traditional index futures, event contracts settle to a predefined binary outcome, typically paying out a fixed sum if a specific condition is met by an agreed expiry date, or zero if it is not.
Kalshi, which operates under oversight from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, has steadily broadened its catalogue of contracts beyond economic indicators and political outcomes. Adding direct exposure to movements in the S&P 500 reflects a growing appetite among retail traders for alternative, defined-risk methods of speculating on or hedging against major financial market benchmarks.
The licensing agreement marks another step in the integration of traditional financial indices into retail prediction exchanges. By referencing recognised institutional benchmarks, operators aim to offer accessible macro-hedging tools while expanding the utility of binary event derivatives for wider audiences.
