Polymarket Affiliate PM Derivatives Secures NFA Clearance for US Brokerage
PM Derivatives, an entity affiliated with Polymarket, has gained approval from the National Futures Association, paving the way for regulated US brokerage activities.

Polymarket's corporate affiliate, PM Derivatives, has secured regulatory approval from the National Futures Association (NFA) to operate as a brokerage in the United States. The clearance marks a notable regulatory development for the decentralised prediction-market brand as it lays the groundwork for a compliant, domestic commercial presence.
The National Futures Association serves as the industry-wide, self-regulatory body for the American derivatives sector, acting under statutory oversight from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Membership and approval from the organisation indicate that PM Derivatives has satisfied the baseline capital, governance, and operational standards required to act as an intermediary for derivatives and event-contract trading within the country.
Polymarket has technically excluded domestic American participants from its core decentralised platform since reaching a civil settlement with the CFTC in January 2022. Despite operating primarily offshore, the platform experienced record-breaking trading volumes during recent geopolitical cycles. Securing domestic status through PM Derivatives points towards a deliberate strategy to re-engage the US market through regulated avenues, aligning its corporate structure with federal oversight.
Prediction markets rely on binary contracts that settle based on real-world outcomes, with trading prices reflecting the aggregate probabilities assigned by market participants. Demand for compliant event contracts has surged across North America in recent months, prompting platforms to seek formal registrations with the CFTC and affiliated supervisory bodies. The NFA approval positions PM Derivatives to establish onshore services alongside established domestic operators in the rapidly expanding sector.
