Betfair invented the modern exchange model and it still sets the standard for sports. Liquidity on major football, horse racing and tennis markets is enormous - you can get serious money matched in-play, which no crypto venue comes close to. The cost model is different too: you pay a commission on net market winnings rather than a per-trade fee, and heavy winners can face a higher premium charge.
